Finally logically remove apps in Android – The Standard

Deleting apps has always been a cumbersome task in Android. The real solution to this is only planned for the next version (7.0) of the operating system, but Marshmallow makes the process already considerably simpler.

An important difference between iOS and Android is called App drawer . This is Android the place where all your installed apps are located, and from which you can create shortcuts to this apps on the home screen of your choice. The difference between the actual application and the shortcut is for an Android often seemed unclear. Removing apps adds even more confusion: If you delete the shortcut, you merely delete the reference to the application, not the application itself

Delete without mistakes

“Android N ‘, the code name for the successor of Marshmallow, the drive slider is therefore likely to be shut down. What remains is an iOS-like app management system where each application is displayed only once. When deleting can you then still impossible mistake: gone is gone

Android 6.0 Marshmallow put a first step in that direction.. There is still a distinction between the App drawer and home screens, but you can delete apps from now on, from both locations. On the home screen, you can get decent choice: just delete the shortcut or delete the entire app

. Note: This feature is a novelty of Android 6.0, but not every smartphone with Marshmallow supports even real. These manufacturers may choose which functions they can and can not accept. Some smartphone makers such as Huawei, the app drawer have otherwise been demolished long ago from Android. The manufacturer is free there.
