Rabobank is paying KPN customers with Android smartphone – NU.nl

The new payment method was announced in January, but Wednesday is actually made available.

Customers can save their debit card in the Rabo Wallet app. can then be paid via a contactless NFC SIM KPN, like it normally would with a contactless debit card. Also, customers of our subsidiaries Simyo and Telfort can use Rabo Wallet.

The special SIM card is delivered to new customers since January 1. Existing KPN customers can request a replacement SIM card.

The Rabobank Wallet is available for all Rabobank clients of sixteen years and older. The app can also loyalty cards and coupons are stored.



Providers

Earlier Rabo Wallet could only be used on a small number of Samsung devices through the NFC chip in the phone itself.

O ok ING is already possible to pay with a smartphone. The app that bank works on all Android devices that have their own NFC chip.

It is unclear when Rabobank customers to pay with SIM cards from other providers with their smartphone.

People with an iPhone can not yet fully mobile payment in the Netherlands because it is made impossible by Apple. Apple’s latest smartphones do have an NFC chip, but it can only be used by its own payment system Apple Pay, which is not yet available in the Netherlands
