Sony has officially started rolling out Android 6.0 for the Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact and Z2. Allowing users to finally feature the latest Android version.
Sony Android 6.0 Update
The website Xperiablog reports that Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) available for the Xperia Z3 model number D6603, Xperia Z3 Compact (D5803) and Xperia Z2 (D6503). Users with a different model number still have to wait for their update, though this does not seem to last long. It is likely that the update will soon be officially rolled out in the UK.
Sony previously made a Marshmallow- beta available for the Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact and Z2 in the Netherlands. The so-called “Xperia Beta Program were selected users already testing the new operating system. Of the ten thousand participants Sony received a lot of positive feedback, partly because the trail was close to a stock version of Android 6.0.
This brings Android 6.0 (Marshmallow)
The Marshmallow update to Android 6.0 brings several important innovations along with it. Doze is added as the energy-saving mode that keeps your smartphone asleep when you’m not used. Also new is Google Now on Tap, the search function uses the context of the screen to provide you with relevant information. Think of trailers and IMDb information if you receive an email about a movie.
Furthermore, Android 6.0 brings the option to manage separate app permissions. Do not you for example that the Facebook app location can figure out, then you turn this off simply. Sony also brings itself a number of new features, including a redesigned camera app, and some security updates.

Google is currently working hard on Android N, which already a test version released for Nexus devices. It is still unclear whether Android N soon also for the Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact and Z2 becomes available. Sony does normally to software support two years of its handsets.
