Control your Android TV from now with an iPhone app – iculture

Google has an Android TV app released for iOS that lets you control your smart TV. After installing you will see a D-pad, you can give finger movements and search with your voice. You can also connect multiple apps with a Android TV, for example, to play multiplayer games.

Android TV is a counterpart of the Apple TV , but still is the insertion something else. Android TV is a special version of Android optimized for the big screen. There are now TVs (eg Philips and Sony) and set-top boxes (such as the Nexus Player) appeared. Like the Apple TV, you get quick access to content. You get a remote control, but now with the published app, you can also use your iPhone or iPad.

Google would prefer that you control with speech. This is a feature that we already know of Siri on the Apple TV, but with Android TV, you can ask all the questions in Dutch. For example, ask “all the James Bond films” or “Who will star in Golden Eye?”. Android TV app then provides the answer.

With Android TV can also purchase content from the Google Play Store, such as movies and music. Additionally, you can install apps and games from Google Play, for example, to use NPO, YouTube, Netflix and Plex. The games you can play multiplayer with other people, possibly with more than one person on one screen. Each player or have their own smartphone or tablet to control. By now announced iOS app can also iPhone users so participate.

Are you enthusiastic, for example you can get the Nexus Player at home, though it is not as readily available in the Netherlands. However, Philips and Sony TV sets with Android TV will still be getting.
