2 ways to activate the split mode in Android N – Android Planet

An important feature of Android N is the splitsceenmodus. This mode can be used in two ways, in this article show what they are.

The Developer Preview Android N is already available for some time and users with a Nexus device have been able to extensively test the Android version. This allows you to work with improved notifications, picture-in-picture mode for videos, and more. What you may not know is that you can activate the split mode in two ways. So you choose how you prefer to put two apps side by side.



1. Trails in the multitask menu

When you have opened an app or you are on the home screen, tap the icon to open the list of recent apps. Then select an application that you want to use the split screen mode and hold for a while.

at the top of a light bar appears where you have to drag the app in question . Now one app loaded in the split screen mode, you will only need to tap the second application.



2. Swipe Move

An easier way to use the split screen mode, using a sweeping motion. To do this you first have to activate the so-called “System UI tuner. First activate the notification screen from top to wipe down.

right you see then the button (cog), which lets you access the settings. Press and hold your finger briefly on the screen. After a few seconds a message that the system UI Tuner is activated.

Then, open the Settings app and swipe all the way down. Choose ‘System UI Tuner & gt; Other “and activate the option” Enable Up to wipe split screen. Once this feature is enabled, you can quickly put an app in the split screen mode from bottom to sweep up the button that shows you your opened apps.

To exit the split screen mode, you can press the button right below. You can also see the black line in the middle, which determines how much space of the screen to take the applications, all the way to sweep up.
