Google iOS keyboard Gboard come later to Android – Android Planet

Today, Google has released a new keyboard for iOS. The functionalities come later to Android.

Google has in the United States launched a new smartphone keyboard, but so far only for Apple’s iOS platform. iPhone and iPad owners can get started with a special keyboard that lets users easily search the web, but also images, emoji, and even gifs. This is done by clicking on the Google icon next to the word suggestions and typing in the search bar. This of course is super useful, but not available for Android.

on Android we get these functions, but only later. Google seems only now it to get started. On site Product Hunt states product manager Bri Connelly: “We are now working on the best way to bring the same functionality to Android.” It is unfortunate that Android in this case, the priority of Google, and we have to wait so. Yet it is also understandable.

Most of the money Google earns on mobile platforms namely comes in via iOS. When users search through Google, they get served ads where Google earns. However, Apple puts increasing emphasis on online services, so there is less chance for Google to get noticed and make money on Apple platforms. The search engine through Gboard make more accessible, of course, Google hopes that the search engine will be used more and iOS users again see more ads. Yet it is above all a very useful feature that we would have preferred to see first on Android.
