One of the main new features of Android N is the option to respond quickly to incoming messages. With quick reply you in advance to use this new feature in Android Lollipop and Marshmallow.

Popular apps like WhatsApp and Hangouts are already in possession of a similar feature. Quick Reply is basically the same, only this app ensures that, all communications apps on such a quick reply feature. For this to work the app, you have to give them first access to your notification screen.

When you receive an incoming message, the application starts automatically and adds its own buttons’ Reply ‘and’ Direct ‘to it. Press ‘Reply’, the app shows the same message with a text bar in which you can respond. Tap Direct, the app displays a pop-up screen with standard replies like ‘yes’, ‘no’ and ‘ok’. The Direct function is not (yet) very useful for users in the UK, since the app is entirely in English.

The app generally works fine. However, if you are in possession of a Huawei device, you can run into some problems. The EMUI shell, which differs heavily from stock-Android, not all messages via quick reply. When Huawei P9 comes example, not always an SMS message within the app. The app, however, is still in the beta phase, so it is quite possible that these types of problems have been corrected in the final version.

The Beta Quick Reply is free to download via the link below. A paid version is available for 2.49 euros with more interface options. The free version 1,9MB required of free storage and runs on Android 5.0 and higher. The app comes from a developer Jawomo, who also made Floatify.
