The NPO app for Android has received a major update today, which included the new corporate identity is implemented. We also see a different approach to content that takes into account device and the time of day.
NPO app
The first thing that stands out in the NPO-app design wherein there are made a number of lists containing large image and the title of the clip or broadcast. In the first column can be found featured broadcasts, to then scroll to short, and missed live. Herein are all kinds of broadcasts and fragments shown in which account has been taken of the time of day and the device from which at that moment can be made use of. So it may be that there is other content displayed on a smartphone than on a smartphone. So there is more emphasis on tablets livestreams.
The menu on the right provides access to the radio streams, tvgids, my NPO and the settings of the app. It is explicitly chosen not to follow the guidelines of Google in Android apps. NPO, the app fully made in our own style, in keeping with the style adopted recently on the website.
We also see that NPO Plus is removed from the app, for this you will need to NLZiet in future , the overall platform of broadcasters in the Netherlands. Chromecast feature is also still present in the app, which (low quality) streams can be routed to the big screen.
