Android 5.1.1 for Sony Xperia Z2 and Z3-series available soon – Android World – Android World

For smartphones and tablets in the Xperia Z2 and Z3 Series is the update to Android 5.1.1 in the offing. The certification has been completed, so the update will be launched very soon.



Certification

All updates need to be certified and shown by documents PTCRB that there are some updates to Sony devices have been approved. The firmware build number 23.4.A.0.546 is approved for the following devices: Xperia Z2 (D6502, D6503), Xperia Tablet Z2 (SGP521), Xperia Z3 (D6653), Xperia Z3 Dual (D6633) Xperia Z3 Compact (D5803, D5833) and Xperia Tablet Z3 Compact (SGP621, SGP641). There is no specific reference found to Android 5.1.1, but the assumption that this 23.4.A.0.546 Lollipop concerns made because Sony would roll out the update this month.

De specific availability is not yet known, but it is expected that the update would start soon. Or certification by the American PTCRB also says something about the European roll-out, is not entirely clear.
