Android users will soon have the opportunity to listen to their voicemail via a simple Android voicemail feature. iPhone owners have this feature for a while, but Android users had to listen to all voice mails by calling.
With the Android voicemail feature, however, it will soon be possible to scroll through a menu and simply select from different messages. Android users previously had to call and listen to the messages in the order and a full menu. According to Google, however, will change that.
The new addition was spotted by Android Police on a support ticket at the upcoming Android M release. The above screenshots show how to see the feature will look like. However, the Android voice mail feature depending on the provider where you have to walk a subscription.
Why is dependent upon the provider is still unclear, but it is only possible to use the Android voicemail feature when you use mobile data via the service provider. The voicemail messages are not downloaded to Wi-Fi.
An interesting addition here is the ability to display text messages on the basis of voicemail-to-text technology. When the technology is rolling in the Netherlands is still unclear, along with the fact that there is not yet known which Dutch providers support the Android voice mail feature.
