After Google and Samsung will roll out monthly LG Android updates – Techzine

It can not be a coincidence anymore, after Google announced that it will release monthly updates for its Android phones Samsung Nexus soon followed and now LG has announced that it will release monthly updates. It seems that Google is very convincing arguments or means used to persuade manufacturers Android better maintained.

LG has indicated that it will distribute monthly Android updates for some of its Android smartphones. The company is not yet clear exactly which devices will be provided with updates, but it seems to go in any case the more expensive LG G2 (review), LG G3 (review) and LG G4 (review).

Whether cheaper LG smartphones will provide monthly updates is still unclear. LG also gives as the reason the stage fright bug in Android, but given the timing of Google as well as Samsung and LG now announce a change in policy seems to be no coincidence. There has been somewhere in a backroom discussions between Google and the manufacturers. Probably announce companies like HTC, Motorola and Sony soon the same to.

Google spread much longer monthly updates to manufacturers for bugs and vulnerabilities in Android, but in most cases, nothing is done with these updates. Only if there is a newer Android version released are implemented such changes. Now Android is more vulnerable undertake manufacturers or action, there is still a hurdle to take, telecom providers will also have to cooperate in spreading faster and deploying updates.
