One Android, Google’s operating system for emerging markets is too late August to the Netherlands. General Mobile will introduce a 4G device with Android One on the Dutch market.
General Mobile Android One
General Mobile has already introduced a number of devices on the Dutch market. Meanwhile, we have the General Mobile Discovery Elite, Discovery Mini 2 and the regular Discovery already reviewed. After a tip that Android One would come to the Netherlands, General Mobile has this confirmed to Android World. We will be the first Android devices with 4G One end of August show in the Dutch stores.
This initiative is taken by the manufacturer, not specifically by Google. Earlier, al-One Android devices on the market in England, not directly a logical choice when we look at the basis of the operating system. Android One is specially designed for emerging markets and runs on smartphones with relatively low specs. England, and the Netherlands too, will therefore not be on the official list of supported countries. Nevertheless phones under Android One flag as the Nexus series will get quick updates.
The General Mobile (GM-113) will feature 4G, a 5 inch screen ( 1280×720), the Snapdragon 410 (64bit) clocked at 1.2 GHz and 2 GB RAM to 16 GB storage is available with microSD support. In terms of camera there can be found a 13-megapixel copy on the back and the front has a 5 megapixel camera. The GM-113 weighs 135 grams and has a dimension of 140.5 x 69.75 x 9.3 mm. It is equipped with Android 5.1.1 and will be updated for two years by Google, which also Android M will come.
Pricing and Availability
The GM-113 is € 229 if not extremely cheap as other Android One devices and will have to compete with, for example deMoto G 3rd gen. A dual-sim variant will also be sold will be getting a price of € 249
