Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be released later this year with the introduction of several new Nexus devices. Also current equipment from different manufacturers will be equipped with the new software, but whether the Galaxy S5 Samsung will also sit on there is now the question.
The Samsung S5 is now equipped with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, the latest version of Android operating system, but perhaps the device gets the update to the new Android 6.0 does not Marshmallow. Samsung has told SlashGear know which devices the update does get, but the flagship of last year was mentioned as yet not one of them.
Among other things, the new Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and the Note 5 will be equipped with The new software, but also the S6 Edge + Tab A, Edge Galaxy Note and Galaxy Alpha found in the list of models for which the update is confirmed. When the first devices, the update however actually get served is nothing yet known.
The list does not have to be final and it can but so that the S5 is added yet, which seems fairly likely. The device did not bring the hoped-for sales success of the previous S handsets, but there are a few tens of million units sold.
