Google today announced a new tool for developers. This time for developers of Android Car apps, which now have an emulator for the PC at their disposal.
Android Car emulator
Google announced today that it is possible to be simulate screen of Android Car PC. This is done by installing the emulator and run the Android Car app on the connected smartphone and then tapping ten times the header. This allows the developer mode will be activated and will display the PC or laptop screen as we know Android Auto. This makes it much easier for developers to test new apps and features on a workstation.
For developers it was already possible to test Auto Android apps, but that was only on a real device: developers had to use a tablet to simulate a head unit (entertainmensysteem) of a car.
Android Car
Android Car is still in its infancy, but with this move, Google will developers against which must want it to work. We’ve already under review of Android Car, which we also note that at present there are simply too few apps. Hopefully this will give the required boost to the number of apps with support for Android in the car.
