Again vulnerability found in Android – Personal Computer Magazine

There is again found a vulnerability in Android. A leak in the Android Media Server, it is possible to take certain parts of the phone.

The flaw was found by security company Trend Micro. That problem discovered in the media section of Android, specifically Audio Effect.

Code inject

The vulnerability is to exploit the user to install a malicious app, outside the Play Store. Such an application may then inject code in Android, making it possible to take over certain parts of the system.

It is possible to via the leak, inter alia, the camera, and to take over the microphone, and so on to capture what the user sees and hears.

Stage Fright

The vulnerability is only found shortly after the discovery of Stage Fright, a serious Android leak which around 950 million phones were vulnerable. Android got after Stage Right lot of criticism because of the diversification of the operating system. Because of the many suppliers and providers that work with Android, it may take a long time before devices are provided with a solution for such a leak.

Old versions

This new find is just patched in the latest versions of Android . Older devices are still vulnerable. However, you can easily avoid by not just download apps outside the Play Store to it – which always takes involves risk.
