The Nexus 5 is still a great phone, but the battery life remains a disappointment for many users. The device has good specifications, including a beautiful screen and fast processor, however, the capacity of the battery is relatively small and intensive tasks, you sometimes more than once to charge the Nexus 5. Unfortunately, LG did not opt for a removable battery, so we have to make do with the standard battery capacity of 2300mAh. The good news is that there may still remains to get more, because according to various tests Android 6.0 Marshmallow significantly extend the battery life of the Nexus 5
.
The German site Computer Base conducted a test with two five Nexus devices running on Android 5.1.1 and Android 6.0 Lollipop Marshmallow, which showed that the standby time of the Nexus 5 was tripled. After 24 in standy-by used the Nexus 5 with Lollipop 12%, while the Marshmallow version dropped only 4.5%. The differences were found to be doubled after 48 hours. The bad news? With heavy use, the battery life hardly increased and the benefits are therefore mainly in standby mode.
The site also notes that the Nexus 5 test was also once performed with the first developer preview Android 6.0 Marshmallow, so there is a chance that the ultimate battery life is even better. Meanwhile, Google has three different preview versions of Android 6.0 Marshmallow released for the Nexus 5, Nexus 6, 9 Nexus and Nexus Play. The uitiendelijk version of the operating system should work with the Nexus 5 (2015) and Huawei Nexus late September or early October are released.
Of course the current Nexus 5 currently runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and receives first Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The device also features a 4.95-inch True HD IPS + display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 (445ppi), a Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB / 32GB storage memory and an 8-megapixel camera.
