‘EU accuses Google of power Android’ – Yahoo! News

The European Commission is preparing an official second charge against Google. This time is not the search target, but the Android mobile operating system. Google would abuse its power by drawing on their own services on Android.

That Bloomberg reports based on three anonymous sources.

The European Commission since last year investigating Google’s Android. It is the second European investigation into Google. Last year, the Internet giant was still officially indicted by the European Commission because it would give their own online shopping service in the search priority. This case is still pending.

Abuse of power with Android
The new European competition case against Google is coming soon according to Bloomberg and about Android. The European Commission is currently doing research on the alleged abuse of Google with Android, because the Internet giant’s own services – such as Gmail and Google Maps – would give priority. These services are delivered with Android.

Google defends itself by saying to this indictment that Android is completely open, so manufacturers have the choice to deliver with Google services with their devices. But if they do not, they do not have access to the app store Google Play. This could be seen by the European Commission as an abuse of power, because Android without Google Play is not very functional.

Competition
The European Commission has Google for alleged abuse of power Android still not charged, but would be prepared according to Bloomberg this. The European Commission has asked reportedly Google’s competitors to submit documents in this case is referred to the Internet giant.

Spokesmen for the European Commission and Google would not yet respond to the message.
