Original Rayman game from 1995 is for Android – Tweakers

Ubisoft Rayman Classic released for Android. This concerns the original version of the game that first appeared in 1995 on the Sega Saturn, PlayStation, Atari Jaguar and PC. The Android version costs 4.99 euros.

Rayman Classic is an almost direct translation of the original platformer. Only the service has been adapted to the game on touch screens to play. The Android game is 200MB in size and install on devices running Android 4.0 or later.

A month ago, Ubisoft released Rayman Classic already for iOS. In Apple’s app store, the game also on sale for 4.99 euros. Unlike new versions of Rayman which appeared in recent years for mobile devices, the classic game contains no micro-transactions.

Since the first game in the Rayman series, there are many successors released. The last major release was Rayman Legends, for consoles and PC in 2013. The figure in the game does have hands and feet, but no arms and legs. The reason is that the original platforms where the game appeared in 1995 were not powerful enough to render a fully animated character. By the limbs to omit it was still possible.
