Panasonic will be OS for cameras replaced by Android – Open

Our Ger the folks at Panasonic interrogated about Android cameras. Surprisingly, they seem to be doing. Michiharu Uematsu, Panasonic, announced this at a presentation of Panasonic Benelux.

That will turn the cameras from Panasonic in the future on Android is not the most exciting news, but interesting. In 2013, for example Ger had already asked Panasonic or they would do it, when there was already a big doubt. Now it seems to be and pretty soon if we are to believe Uematsu. In fact, the brand threw from their corporation Account even a punch out, following the news of Ger on Stuff

That there is considerable doubt with such. big business is not crazy. These choices can not be done from one day to another. That’s what makes it interesting

To Android or not to Android

Then a question. To Android or not to Android? It’s something a lot of tech companies wonder. More and more devices need to Connected . Washers, lamps, everything must be connected to WiFi or NFC. And preferably so that you can control with your smartphone. Did someone smartphone? Then Android is right around the corner. Where previously, and now, almost all computers run on Windows, Android is used for almost all phones. I immediately thought to Blackberry. The company switched to Android (and perhaps touch screens) are not made and crashed. Moreover, they scrambled past year have returned with a phone running on Google OS. But it is not strange that Blackberry, and now Panasonic, which postponed step. You have the company partnered with a semi-competition. You contribute money down, to share valuable knowledge, adjusting devices’ t OS like to run and so on.

Panasonic been in the world

Panasonic I think on world gone to find himself. If you go a little searching you can find a nice run-up to the switch to Android. As mentioned earlier Ger had asked once, when she indicated they are concerned with connectivity from their cameras. That was 2013. Do you find further example this interview from 2014 with the same Uematsu of the introduction to this piece. It has a really really long conversation with Dave Etchells, a photography journalist. In it they go on technical matters, but they also talk about the future. Back then, Uematsu said the connection between Panasonic cameras and smartphones was not in the foreseeable future. Again this is not very surprising when you consider that Panasonic already makes their own software and that so much money is sitting. That would of course they get back in the long run. Another obstacle for not switching to Android.

The world still runs through hey, haha. No but seriously, the Japanese company will continue to sell, of course, just cameras. So they come anyway with a Lumix line that runs on Android. If you want to know more about how that will look out then you should just go to Stuff
