Android 5.0 is not yet in on my Nexus HELLEP! – Android World

The rollout of Android 5.0 for the Nexus series has already started in November, but still not everyone has received them. Luckily you’re not alone, but now what?

Android 5.0

Whether Android 5.0, or another version, updates should be rolled out as soon as possible if it is up to the users (yes I too). At the moment the update is available in a country, everyone wants to have him and streams mailbox and social channels Androidworld completely with any questions or if the update is for a specific device. To address this somewhat counter to come, we have created a comprehensive list showing the dates communicated by manufacturers with regard to the Lollipop Android 5.0 update.

Nexus

Whether you have a Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 or Nexus 10, one of the major advantages of this series is that there should be quick updates, at least , which was previously the case. Android 5.0 is it different, completely different. Where updates to Android 4.4 were quickly deployed and had reached the entire world within a month, that’s not the case with Lollipop. This is also the first time that Google gave a preview of Android then L which was released shortly after Google I / O in June. This enabled users but also manufacturers already started to provide an early update their own devices and they succeeded. As LG has the G3 already rolled the update and also for the Samsung Galaxy S5 is 5.0 already started in other countries. Many Nexus users are disappointed because the update is not yet available, a significant concentration

Reason 1:. Vodafone SMS bug

The first reason why Android 5.0 rolling out so slow bug with Vodafone. After installing Android 5.0 Vodafone customers were faced with not send text messages and most high bills (more info). This bug caused the roll temporarily stop put before a fix came in Android 5.0.1 which started some time later

Reason 2:. (Slow) phased rollout

Even though an update tested so well, as it is made available to the general public, then there could still present problems. Therefore such updates, including Android 5.0, always rolled out in phases and Google has been revealed to you how this works with Nexus devices. Briefly:

Once an update is available, it will be available to 1% of users, randomly. Depending on the error messages and reports that arrive there it is a few days later rolled to the next 25% of users. This step is repeated twice more, to 50% of users, and then 100%

Reason 3:. Android 5.0.3

There is a large (memory) bug the latest version of Android, it may be that Google in the background has put stop the update to fix this. Roll would then then proceed with Android 5.0.3, but this has not been confirmed and remains speculate about

Reason 4:. Unknown

We would like to argue even more reason to to clarify, however, it can also be given to us. We have inquired with include Google and LG and both indicate unable to provide concrete information on the roll, including a timeline unfortunately remains off.

What should you do NOT

If you can not wait and want to do already install Android 5.0 on your Nexus device then there are fortunately some solution to do this manually. But do NOT remove the data from the Google Service Framework, this is of little use and thus you can even ensure that your device is not working properly. The Check Now button that is available via the settings obsessive impressions of little use, it is within 24 hours once only possible to receive the update, you are not your turn, then those 732 other clicks per day do not offer a solution, not really.

What CAN you do

Now to manually install Android 5.0, but there is need any technical knowledge. To do this, include ADB / Fastboot installed on your PC and there are some terminal commands implemented to achieve this. We have already published several guides and tutorials in the past about how this works

Android 5.0:. Flash itself factory images on Nexus devices (full factory image)

Android 5.0: so Update your Nexus device (sideload update, manual setup)

Or …

Patience is a virtue! This might sound like a cliché, but someday he will come, ever … (and you’re not alone)

Do you have the update already in on your Nexus device?
