LibreOffice has released a test version of an upcoming app for Android. With LibreOffice Viewer enables users to documents, spreadsheets, and presentations on phones and tablets. The test version is according to the organization not completely stable.
The app alongside support for open standards as odt, odp ods and also Microsoft Office support and can .docx, xlsx and .pptx- open files. There is also support for older Office formats like .doc and .xls. Users can use the viewer to view files only; editing is not possible. In this test version works things like left yet and it is also not possible to search from the LibreOffice viewer for files.
Collaboration has put the test version of the LibreOffice Viewer in the Play Store. Almost all phones and tablets would be compatible with the app. According to the organization, there are over 6800 compatible devices. The 46 megabyte weighing app requires Android 4.0 or higher, and uses the engine of Firefox for Android to show files.
