HTC America did with the release of Android 5.0 Lollipop promise the One (M8) and One (M7) within 90 days with the latest Android version. The first part of that promise, the company is in any case fulfilled: the update is started in the United States.

With the introduction of the HTC One (M8), the new line was that was used with the HTC One (M7) continued in 2013. Now, almost a year later receives the flagship of the 2014 update to Android 5.0 with HTC Sense 6.

Android 5.0 is a big step by Google to make the operating system more mature. In this latest Android version many changes have been made, as we see include speed, but also the notifications have been addressed and the whole is passed to a new Material Design. This new design is not yet implemented in the new HTC Sense version.

The update to Android 5.0.1 for HTC One M8

Availability

Android 5.0.1 for HTC One (M8) is currently being rolled out in the United States, as tipped Androidworld reader Michel us. His unit is “converted” to an American version (with US identification, CID) so he can receive the update. The update has a size of over 584MB and version 4.16.1540.8 inherited.

When the update is available in the Netherlands and Belgium is not known, but we expect that it will soon follow if there are no major problems with the American version. In the update to Android 4.4 KitKat it took about a month before the update was also rolled out in the Netherlands. We also expect that the update for the HTC One (M7) follows shortly
