A total of twelve ultra HDTVs on the market that will run on Android TV. The TVs have a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. Prices will be announced later.
In addition to a new operating system, Sony gives the TVs a slimmer design, high-resolution audio and a new processor.
High resolution audio
High resolution audio is something that Sony recently incorporated into products, but it is the first time that Sony TVs will equip you with the audio quality.
High resolution audio improves sound quality by higher sampling rates. A typical CD has a sampling rate of 44.1 kHz, 44 100 samples per second. At high resolution audio from Sony this 96 kHz, 96,000 samples per second. Sony promises better reproduction of fine details and subtle nuances of audio.
Processor
The new TVs run on a new X1 processor that can better cope with ultra high-definition images. Specifications of the chip were not disclosed. In a press release Sony processor images brighter and ensures better upscaling of SD and HD images at ultra high-definition images.
Through scaling techniques HD images can be shown in almost ultra hd, but quality and resolution are not as high as originally shot in ultra high definition images. Moreover sometimes go in scaling lost subtle colors, textures and contrast. Sony promises improvement in that area.
Android TV
Another innovation is Android TV Google. The search giant announced in June the operating system and Sony is one of the first to TVs will equip them.
Android TV should provide a natural control for TVs and more appropriate games and apps. Moreover focuses the platform at mapping of video-on-demand offering and is voice control available.
Sony gives the new TVs finally a new design along with include a less conspicuous foot. The thinnest TV, the Bravia X90C is only 4.9 millimeters thick, but the dimensions of the other eleven models Sony says nothing.
