Less than 0.1% of Android users on 5.0 – Telegraaf.nl

Two months after the release of Android 5.0 Lollipop shows less than 0.1 percent of all Android users to run the latest version of Google’s operating system on their tablet or smartphone. The last major release, KitKat, has not yet a majority of the ‘market’ in the hands with a share of 39.1 percent. Older Jellybean, those running version 46 percent of all Android smartphones and tablets

.

That the new releases so slowly taken over by users, mainly due to the way Google Android has put on the market. Unlike Apple and Microsoft do with iOS and Windows Phone, Google hardware makers free hand to adapt the software to fit. Thereby running smartphones out quickly only with the latest Android version of Google itself.

Especially for developers, it is difficult that there are so many different versions in circulation, but also for users, it may be an issue . Older versions of Android may contain vulnerabilities or bugs that Google has addressed long and wide, but not yet implemented by a hardware maker
