QuadRooter is a name for the combination of four newly discovered vulnerabilities in Android devices with a chip manufacturer Qualcomm. The vast majority of Android devices contain such a chip.
By leaking abuse can get malicious apps so-called root Access Services’ an extension. Thus get attackers access to all the data on a device, and they can also easily listen to him.
However, Google reported versus Android Central that the vast majority of devices are already protected from the leak through Verify the Apps feature, enabled by default state since Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Verify Apps is a feature that helps to block and identify malicious apps.
Update
Google further reports that three of the four vulnerabilities have already been addressed in the latest security update. The fourth leak will soon be closed, the company said.
A common problem is that Android updates still need to be redirected from the manufacturers of the devices, so not all Android users immediate access to the latest updates.
