Nexus ‘Sailfish’ and ‘Marlin’ only come with Android 7.1 – NieuweMobiel.NL

Google released immediately after the release of Android 7.0 Nougat that it is working on a maintenance update.; MR1. The first beta of it has to come out somewhere in the autumn and it contains all likelihood the new launcher, Google Assistant and the opportunity to share in the navigation itself. Meanwhile, more and more insiders who think they know that the Marlin and Sailfish, the next generation of Nexus phones, simultaneously released with this update

Google needs to make the leap to Android 7.1

Although Google says that the beta will be available in autumn for developers it is still unclear when Android 7.1 Nougat is just off. That seems to be a prerequisite for it to equip the Nexus Marlin and Sailfish and marketing. Now Google Nexus 6P and 5X announced in September 2015, more than a year ago. So we have to go here. Incidentally, Google also made it clear that this first maintenance update is not the last. There should now come out Android updates every quarter. It is still unclear what this means for the speed with which older Android smartphones are updated.
