Android 6.0 Marshmallow Review – Longer battery life and more control – Tweakers

It is now almost a year since Google Android Lollipop thorough update the world lurched into. With Android Marshmallow the Internet company now brings an update that knows both small and large improvements. The appearance of Android is not really the kick is gone, yet so profound changes have been made which are not 2/5 Google’s new mobile operating system, but 6.0 has been baptized.

Google This year highlights two elements: smarter battery capacity and more control over Android to the user. In addition, quite a few made seemingly small changes that bring everything together smoother user experience or take for example the workload from the user. We begin with the changes that catch the eye.

At first sight there is in Android Marshmallow changed much less than in Android Lollipop was. Yet there are a few changes that stand out almost immediately. The most striking is the new appscherm. This now has a white background rather than a whitened version of the background image. Furthermore scroll now vertical instead of horizontal and appscherm does not consist of individual pages, but one large page with all your apps.

At the top you find appsuggesties in a separate framework . Android shows these based on time of day and takes account of apps that are frequently opened at the same time and how often you use an app. These suggestions are especially useful if you have a lot apps on your smartphone or tablet. It happened to us often in practice that the app that we wanted to start was already in this list.

There is a new appzoekfunctie present that no longer displays Google search results, but only apps, unlike the search function located on the home screen. If you’re the button to appscherm lead longer, go directly to the appzoekfunctie and also check which can be handy if you have lots of apps.

Furthermore, Android’s default home screen has another received background image. That will, however, Nexus users stand out as most manufacturers determine their own visual design. Furthermore, Google changed the logo, making the search bar which is more colorful.
