Motorola announced that smartphones get an update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Interestingly, the Moto E 2015 is missing from the list, while Motorola at launch just promised that the budget smartphone up to date would continue
On his blog Motorla announced which models an update to Android 6.0 is planned. The second and third generation of the Moto G and Moto X on the list, but the Moto E 2015 is missing. This is remarkable considering this device was launched on 25 February this year and Motorola in the introduction video explicitly promised to continue to provide the phone updates
In the film, says marketing manager Magno Herran Motorola:. “Although other smartphones in this price range do not always get updates, we will not forget and we will you ensure that your Moto E up-to-date. “
Android Police notes that in the fine print on the promotional the Moto E 2015 is that the smartphone will have at least one update. The unit was shipped with Android 5.0 and has now been updated to Android 5.1. That promise is actually already redeemed by Motorola, but probably did users of the phone hoping for sustained support.
When Motorola Android 6.0 will roll out the devices that receive the update was not yet known. The manufacturer says it wants to do this quickly, but do not want to rush. In the coming weeks more would be known about the publication dates.
Motorola some of his Moto Enhancements will not take you to the latest Android version. These include the Moto Assist, which provides similar functionality as the Do Not Disturb option that is now in Android 6.0. Motorola Migrate also disappears, considering Android Marshmallow has improved support for backup of user data.
