New emoji the move to Android – Tablets Magazine

The latest emoji that Apple added to iOS via the iOS 9.1 update, Google has also come under increased to Android soon. Reported Hiroshi Lockheimer, the vice president for everything Android on Twitter, possibly in response to a complaint on a large internet forum.

This weekend Hiroshi Lockheimer, who is now vice president of the Android department at Google, stated that Unicode seventh and eighth soon to be introduced within the Android operating system. Unicode 7 and 8 introduce a range of new emoji for mobile devices like smartphones and tablets, which Apple has recently added to iOS, through the update iOS 1.9 . Already popular emoji we will soon be able to expect on Android include the middelvinger-, taco and burrito emoji.

However, it is not yet clear when we can expect the new emoji. Lockheimer fact has no date or schedule brought out. Possibly it may be that we can expect the new pictures in the update to Android 6.1, but it could also just be that we have to wait for Android 7.0 Nougat (or something similar). If the new emoji arrive with Android 6.1 we expect the update within a few months. Android 7.0 allows course another year to come.
