Google has released a new set of instructions for builders hardware working under Android 6.0 MarshMellow operating system. Full encryption should be enabled by default
.
Google tried to enter the encryption standard previously in Android 5.0 Lollipop and added itself to the action to the word in the introduction of the Nexus 6 Nexus and 9. But after that, the company went back into his own footsteps. It was a bridge too far last year to enforce, given the hardware performance of the moment. The requirement was then converted into ‘highly recommended’. The problem, among other reasons, the Android drivers missed so that the AES encryption could make use of the hrdwareversnelling. The encryption must therefore take place entirely in software and delivered at a lot of delay.
New round, new opportunities
Now, Google is trying it again. There is a mitigating factor in Google’s rules. When hardware is not enough memory or hardware acceleration fog, the mandatory encryption may be waived. For devices that do meet those conditions and can perform encryption at speeds above 50 MiB / s, the default encryption is mandatory.
